KISO Swim School is proud to sponsor the Healthy Kids Running Series for the first time in Boca Raton! This past Sunday, March 17th, was the first hosted race and the kids had a blast.
The Healthy Kids Running Series is a national, community-based non-profit founded in 2009 with goals to combat increasing rates of childhood obesity in America. Their program is running in 35 states, with 25k kids running, and also celebrating their 10th year anniversary by hosting 10 fest in 3 regions across the country. Their mission is to provide a 5 week Running Series in the spring and fall for kids from ages 2 to 14 years old, promoting a fun and healthy environment as well as motivating kids to stay more active and build more self esteem, experience accomplishment and lay the foundation of a healthy lifestyle. The Kids compete each week of the Series for a chance to earn points and at the end of the Series the top boy and girl with the most points in their respective age division receive a trophy. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you run because all participants receive a medal for their achievements!
