Benefits of Swimming for Students
Swimming is a beneficial skill for students to excel in the pool and in school. At KISO Swim School, swimmers are introduced to consistent weekly schedules with regimented practice. Every lesson provides a series of progressions that increase students understanding of fundamental strokes and help them learn body balance. The Teen Kids News article, “What Swimming Does To Your Brain?”, describes swimming as an activity that improves mental development. Swimming affects neurotransmitters in the brain, such as serotonin, to influence mood and produce ANP, a stress-reducing hormone. This helps control responses to stress and anxiety, improving students' overall brain development. The physical movement of alternating between the stretch and relaxation of skeletal muscles, while breathing deeply in a rhythmic pattern also enhances one’s strength and endurance (Teen Kids News, 2017).
Fitting Exercise in Your Schedule
KISO Swim School makes it easy to incorporate exercise into your schedule. We offer private, semi-private, group and club teams, for all members of the family, ages six months old and up. All fall seasonal classes are scheduled in the afternoon to provide students an easy way to include swimming into their daily schedules. All swim programs will be offered weekday afternoons, as well as Saturday Mornings. We even offer Swim Mobiles for private instruction at your own home pool should any of our schedules not work for you.
