KISO Swim School is very excited and honored to present not one, but two Olympic Swimmers at the KISO Summer Swim Camp: Session 5 "Olympic Week". Tomorrow our campers will have the opportunity to get close and personal with Olympians Arkady Vyatchanin and Leah Martindale Stancil via a special FaceTime session.
Arkady Vyatchanin is a Russian-born Serbian backstroke swimmer. Vyatchanin is currently living and training in Gainesville, Florida, coached under Gregg Troy of the University of Florida Gators. He holds many high achievements, including two Bronze Medals from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. He is looking to achieve his fourth Olympics for 2020 in Tokyo.
Leah Martindale Stancil is a sprinter from Barbados and competing in the 1996 and 2000 Olympics. She made history books representing Barbados in the 50m Freestyle, when she became the first black female to make to an Olympic Swimming Final. She is currently married with three children and is an assistant swim coach at the University of Florida.
The campers will have a chance to hear Arkady's and Leah's swimming background and their journey to the Olympics. They will also be giving important tips and taking questions from the kids. Be sure to bring your listening ears for this event!
